Alberto Castelli joins Kairos as CEO and minority stakeholder

18 November 2020

Asset management and wealth management group Kairos today announces the hiring of Alberto Castelli as new CEO of Kairos Partners SGR and Kairos Investment Management SpA, starting on 1 January 2021. Castelli succeeds Fabrizio Rindi, who has led the Group towards a new phase of development since September 2019. As already announced, Rindi will take up the position of Kairos Partners SGR Chairman.

Castelli will also become a minority stakeholder in Kairos, thus further strengthening the Group’s newly introduced independent boutique model following the recent announcement that founding partner Guido Brera and long-standing managers Rocco Bove and Massimo Trabattoni would again become shareholders.

Castelli, 54 years old, joins the Kairos Group from Poste Italiane Group’s BancoPosta Fondi Sgr, where he was CEO from 2016. His aim will be to consolidate Kairos’ position as a leading player in the asset management industry for its skills in offering innovative products and creating tailored investment solutions that meet the needs of private and institutional clients as well as distribution networks.

Castelli brings a wealth of experience in the financial services industry. Throughout his long career, which started in Fineco, he has held leading positions in the asset management industry, including the roles of General Manager and Chief Investment Officer for the Alternative Investments department of Capitalia and CEO of Lehman Brothers Asset Management SGR. He also gained significant entrepreneurial experience as a partner in independent financial advisory firm Eidos Partners.

Fabrizio Rindi commented: “I took on the role of interim Kairos CEO in September 2019 with a great sense of responsibility and with the aim of laying the foundations for a new successful phase in the history of this extraordinary Group. After a very strict selection process, we chose Alberto to take over the baton from me. We are truly delighted that he accepted this challenge. Throughout his long career, particularly in the asset management industry, Alberto achieved results and demonstrated that he can rely on the right combination of experience, leadership skills, and deep understanding of our business to continue to firmly guide Kairos towards a return to stable and sustainable growth. I believe that, thanks to his vision and determination, he will be able to play a key role together with the strengthened and more cohesive Kairos management team, of which I am proud to belong as next Chairman of the SGR.”

Alberto Castelli commented: “I am very proud and grateful for the opportunity that Kairos and its shareholders are offering me as new player within an important project that aims to further enhance this boutique. Kairos is characterised by great talents and a strong entrepreneurial spirit, and with its distinctive offering of investment products and genuinely independent fund managers, it is already strong in its niche positioning. I will actively contribute to the further development of its unique business model, which, by integrating asset management and wealth management, puts private clients, institutional investors, and distribution networks at its core“.
